When good quilts go bad

My Hopscotch quilt was having issues. So Monday, it went into solitary confinement. It was being rebellious, difficult to manage. My idea was that "when a good quilt goes bad", you have to take drastic steps to rehabilitate it. It sat all day Monday and Tuesday. This morning, I went in to see the quilt with full intentions of keeping it in solitary if it wasn't ready to turn a new leaf and behave. We sat and had a long talk, me and Hopscotch....and what do you know??? Hopscotch cooperated and look what we were able to accomplish together....just the two of us and a machine.

I cut out the borders and have the first two ready to sew on. Maybe I'll get them done this afternoon. It's been a great quilt...well all except for Monday and Tuesday. But, I'm not dwelling on the past. I'm looking to the future with a renewed sense of hope.

Happy Quilting!!!!

Hi Paula!

As a quilter I enjoyed reading your last post. Sometimes some of our quilts will just give us a little bit of trouble.

I am sure you will end up with a beautiful finished quilt.

This post had me laughing out loud. I'll have to remember that idea of putting a quilt into isolation when it's acting up! LOL It certainly looks super now!

Sometimes a quilt just has to learn it's place in the world. Glad to know that Hopscotch was a f-a-s-t learner *s*

Hmm.. I don't see any signs of unruliness anymore. Only lovliness. Maybe she just needed a time-out.

I was just talking about this with another quilter - there is a time in the making of every quilt that I just don't like it anymore! The little voice in the back of my head whispers "it will never work" and I am tempted to hide the whole thing in the closet or do a drive-by at Goodwill...maybe I will try putting it in the time-out corner now!

What did Hopscotch do that was so bad. Your finished projects looks very good to me.
