Some sewing going on....

I cut out the rest of the background pieces for my Indian Hatchet blocks....

And, worked on the Bear Paw Mini......

Quilting and then trimming....

Cutting the binding strips.....

Machine basting the edges before actually binding. I do this using my walking foot. For some reason, sometimes when I attach the binding, the back migrates. So, I've started using the walking foot and machine basting BEFORE adding the binding.

Attaching the binding by machine on the front....by hand on the back.

The completed top. Just the label and washing and the quilt will be ready to travel to it's new home!

May I make a suggestion? Machine stitch your binding on before trimming away the excess batting and backing. Everything stays together that way, not shifting, without basting. Then trim away the excess. Now press your binding away from the quilt, fold to the back and handstitch. Not only will your back not migrate, but you will always have a binding full of batting with no flat spots. I encourage you to try this once to see how you like it. I can't remember who told me this years ago, but I've done it this way ever since and really like how it works.

You've been busy and very productive! Congrats to you! I, also, apply my binding before trimming away the excess batting and backing. The results are wonderful!

I agree with Patti's suggestion, that is what I do, and no problems. By the way the quilt and the new background look GREAT!!
