Small Quilt Challenge

O.K. Quilty, Bloggy Friends......here is the challenge.

I challenge you to make a small quilt, under 36 inches, using one unit plus borders. Here are some examples of one unit.

Squares

Strips

Strings

Feel free to cut, flip and otherwise alter your one unit pieces to get something unique. Quilters are so talented. But, just so you'll know, I'm pretty run of the mill and average. I think I'll make mine using HST (half square triangles). I've never made a quilt using only HST's. This should be fun!

Let's get to work and get the tops completed and blogged by July 5th! Post a comment here, if you are joining the challenge!

Happy Quilting!!!!!

I'm back - and it was no vacation!

Hello Dear Bloggy Friends.....

So sorry I was away for a while. Never even saw that coming! Last post I talked about issuing a challenge for a small quilt and next thing I knew, I was sideswiped!

The past month has found us with three cases of bronchitis, breathing troubles, a mono diagnosis, a sleep-a-thon (that's me!!!! Slept 30 of 36 hours!!!! How do you spell exhaustion?) a new hospital bed, a Hoyer lift, visits from a physical therapist, from a nurse, and prospects of more. Changes in family, lots of paperwork, visits with an attorney, trips to an Adaptive Driving Company, picking up medical supplies, and the list goes on.

Everyone is well finally! And while some things may sound bad, they have been helpful in caring for my Dear Hubby, and changes happen when you have MS! We're making adjustments, and we're doing rather well, thank you very much!!! LOL

I haven't touched any fabric for 4 weeks until last night. I received several large bags of fabric (thanks Cherri) and just made myself go through and sort it all out! WOW! There was tons of fabric and I even pulled out two huge bags to share with a friend! The rest will go towards some charity quilts, etc. Can't wait to get started on that!

I picked up some fabrics for my Four Seasons Quilt Swap. I've got a pattern that I'm adapting, and I can't wait to get started on that.

My Orange Crush Mystery, while no longer a mystery is still unfinished. Of course, I'll get to it and it will be beautiful when it's done.

I'm behind now in the Star Quilt Along, but there's plenty of time to get those blocks finished up!

I'm just putting one foot in front of the other, working on one thing at a time, organizing, cleaning up the sewing table.......and let me say, it feels great!

So, here's to quilting fun, and REALLY, I'll be posting the Small Quilt Challenge. Be on the lookout!

Happy Quilting!
